Initial ideas are quick sketches that are used to explore possible ideas for your project.
You should focus on the number of ideas rather than the quality. Drawing lots of ideas quickly will help you to get past the obvious ideas and encourage you to try things.
You don't need to spend hours on detailed or realistic drawing at this stage, draw quickly then move on.
Examiners look for projects that develop ideas over time, rather than random ideas that come from nowhere at the end.
A good place to start is to go back to your mindmap or moodboard and draw a few of the ideas you came up with earlier.
You might try:
ideas you wrote on your mindmap
things from your moodboard
mini-products like book covers
Not every idea will be perfect and examiners know this. This is the safest time to take risks so try things that might not work, or ideas that feel risky or unusual
Which idea has the most potential for interesting development?
